Kehillat Natan 2006-2007 Fellows:

The following were fellows in Derech Hateva's Kehillat Natan Program 2006-2007. They participated in the Israel Trail Teen Adventure program during the summer of 2006, and have since drawn from their experience to create educational programs in their respective communities which they implemented this past year.


Chen Edri

Chen Edri is from Kfar Maimon in the Negev. Chen is in 10th grade and goes to school in Netivot, at Ulpanit Zvia. In the context of Kehillat Natan, and following her ITTA '06 summer trip, Chen initiated a project in the Bnei Akiva branch where she is a counselor, that awakens environmental awareness in the youth movement members. Under Chen's guidance, she and the other counselors in her branch led activities about the environment, and started a recycling competition for collecting bottles and cans. She hopes to take the branch members on a trip, focusing on the issue of nature protection.


Ayelet
Ayelet Erlich

Ayelet Erlich lives in Ma'alot in the Upper Galilee. Ayelet is in 11th grade and studies in Ulpanit Zvia in Ma'alot. Ayelet coordinates a children's movement called "Tnuat haYeladim" in Moshav Chosen. After her ITTA '06 experience, and through the framework of Kehillat Natan, Ariella has incorporated values of nature protection and environmental awareness into the movement, including taking the kids on a hike in Jerusalem. During the rest of the year, she is excited to continue educating, and would like to organize a nature-friendly "cooking day" for the kids.



Sarah Weinstein

Sarah Weinstein lives in Karmiel in the Upper Galilee. Sara is in 12th grade at Ulpanit Zvia in Ma'alot. In the context of Kehillat Natan, and following her ITTA '06 summer trip, Sara participated in the program "L'oro Nelech," and, along with several peers, she organized a game and activity in the Bayit Yad L'Banim in Ma'alot. The purpose of her activity there is to educate the young people of Ma'alot to love and guard the Land of Israel, and to encourage values of courage and strength. One tool she uses to achieve these goals, is familiarizing the kids with soldiers who grew up in Ma'alot and fell in Israeli wars.



Hodaya Elimelech

Hodaya Elimelech is from Ma'alot in the Upper Galil. She is in the 11th grade at Ulpanit Zvia in Ma'alot. Hodaya is a coordinator of a children's movement called "Tnuat hayeladim" in Ma'alot. Through Kehillat Natan, and following her ITTA '06 summer trip, Hodaya has added components of nature protection and environmental awareness into her group activities. Over the course of the year, she hopes to continue this aspect of her teaching, and to take them on an educational hike emphasizing nature protection.



Rivka Bochris

Rivka Bochris lives in Moshav Ma'agalim in the Negev. Rivka is in 10th grade and studies in Ulpanit Zvia in Netivot. After her ITTA '06 experience, and through her continued participation with Kehillat Natan, Rivka, along with her fellow participant, Odelia, created a project in her Bnei Akiva branch that awakens environmental awareness in the youth movement members. Rivka helped to write and plan activities about the subject. She hopes to continue this kind of activity with her Bnei Akiva branch, and to take the kids for an educational hike.



Efrat Guzi

Efrat Guzi lives in Moshav Pdoyim in the Negev. Efrat is in 10th grade and studies in Ulpanit Zvia in Netivot. Efrat is a counselor for Bnei Akiva in her moshav. Through the framework of Kehillat Natan, and following her ITTA '06 summer trip, Efrat initiated a project in her moshav that awakens community members to be more aware of their environment. She ran workshops and activities on the subject, and is working towards the establishment of recycling receptacles on the moshav. Over the course of the year, she hopes to paint the bus stations, create environmental sculptures, and to take the kids of the moshav on a hike.



Odelia Madmoni

Odelia Madmoni lives in Moshav Ma'agalim in the Negev and is in 10th grade at Ulpanit Zvia in Netivot. Odelia is a counselor for Bnei Akiva on her moshav. Through the framework of Kehillat Natan, and following her ITTA '06 summer trip, Odelia, along with her fellow participant, Rivka, created a project in her Bnei Akiva branch that awakens environmental awareness in the youth movement members. Odelia led activities on the subject, and she hopes to continue educating in her Bnei Akiva branch, and to take the kids for a trip focusing on nature protection.



Renana Weitzman

Renana Weitzman lives in Ma'alot in the Upper Galilee. Renana is in 12th grade and studies in Ulpanit Zvia in Ma'alot. Renana is a coordinator of the children's movement, "Tnuat Hayeladim" in Ma'alot. Through the framework of Kehillat Natan, and following her ITTA '06 summer trip, Renana has incorporated values of nature protection and environmental awareness into the movement, and led activities on the subject. During the rest of the year, she would like to continue educating, and would like to organize a "cooking day" for the kids that would emphasize nature protection.
